Gillians Holiday Recount

The Hamilton Gardens!
After an awesome 11 weeks of school, we finally had a holiday!
On the first week of the holidays it wasn’t so great, because my Mum and Dad were at work so we had my brothers 15 year old friend came here to look after us. His name is Lucas; the last of the week was like this, but my cousin Angelo was at our house.
On Good Friday we woke up at 5am, we were going to Rororua, Taupo and Hamilton with some Filipino friends from Church. Firstly we went to our friend Jameel’s house to meet up with everyone. My brothers and I stayed inside the car to stay nice and warm.
When we were all ready we all left for having breakfast at Huntly McDonalds! I had 3 pancakes, and one hot chocolate. I felt spoilt. Later on we drove to Hamilton and stopped for a while. Then we started driving again. Soon we were at the Hamilton gardens.
First of all, we fed some ducks. It was quite funny because the ducks were fighting over the bread! J
Later we scampered to the gardens. The first garden was the English Garden; we saw loads of pretty and bright flowers. Afterwards we went to the American Garden. It was really cool because it had a clear pond that looked really cool! We had a few photos taken, that looked really cool! After the American Garden, we went to the Chinese Garden. At the Chinese garden, we went through a tunnel and we saw an even BIGGER pond! There was also a brown bridge with lots of lanterns on it. My friend Jameel was with me, my mum and my Auntie. Jameel and I walked through lots of bamboo trees. There was a tiny Chinese gazebo at the top. Jameel found a bush that had some sort of berries on it. They were indigoish and blueish.
After the Chinese gardens, we scurried away to the Indian gardens to see the cultural and beautiful flowers, but we weren’t expecting two beautiful fountains there. The only disgusting and sad part was when Jameel and I saw a dead Weta on the ground on top of a muddy footprint.
Next we went next door to the Japanese Gardens! The path was made out of stones, the flowers looked like a rainbow, and the sound effects sounded wonderful like a conch shell. With my camera I took some close up photos of flowers. They turned out to look very professional.
Lucky last…the Italian Gardens! In the Italian gardens we saw a huge temple sort of looking thing; it was a beautiful cream colour. There was also a big lion fountain there and many ponds. Soon we left for Lake Taupo for lunch. The Hamilton Gardens was so much fun!!!!!!!!! I wish I could go there again!  JJJJJ
