Arts Week reported by Rachel

Sunnyhills Arts Week
Reported by Rachel
On the 1st of July In Week Ten, Term Two, Sunnyhills School had an Arts Week. On the first Monday The Middle Syndicate did Origami for Visual arts held by Sheryl Morris and Aboriginal Art held by Sandra Stewart. When I visited room 14 I viewed that they were doing Origami with Sheryl Morris. Sheryl gave the kids choices of a dog, pig, cat, fox or whale.

The children in room 14 rotated to dance in the hall held by Sue Venvile. The children moved to music, danced around the room and made shapes using their imaginations. Sue taught them about the three levels of dance...high, low and middle.

On the Wednesday the Middle Syndicate went to the hall for a treat. Rhythm Interactive came to Sunnyhills School and performed with the children. The children all got an African drum to play and it was very loud!

On the Thursday the children in the Middle Syndicate went to the hall once more to go to the lesson with Graham Braddock the sketcher .
“The man was amazing at drawing,” said Holly (one of the children in the
lesson) .

At the end of the week all the school got together at an assembly to share what they had learnt during their experience of learning about the Arts . I had an amazing experience visiting Sunnyhills School.
